Products and Catalog: what is the difference?

The left menu has both Products and Catalog. Products is what you sell yourself. Catalog is what you book from other suppliers.

Voyant Support

The left menu has two items that sound similar. They do different jobs.

Products is where you build

Products is your workshop. You come here to create something, write the description, set the prices, and decide which dates it runs.

It only ever contains the things your own company sells.

Catalog is your shop floor. You come here to find something to sell to a customer, check what is available, and book it.

It covers everything you can sell, which is a wider set than Products. That includes your own products and also rooms, cruises and packages coming from suppliers you are connected to.

Catalog then Accommodations. These 496 hotels come from a connected supplier, shown by the SOURCE filter on the left.

The SOURCE filter is how you tell them apart. Results marked with a supplier name came from that supplier. Results with no source are your own.

What is inside Catalog

  • Packages searches live flight and hotel combinations.
  • Tours, Boat Tours, Activities, Attractions, Events and Transportation browse your own products, grouped by family.
  • Cruises and Accommodations are mostly supplier inventory.
  • Supply connections shows which suppliers you are connected to.

Which one do I open?

  • Creating or editing something you sell, go to Products.
  • Finding something for a customer and booking it, go to Catalog.

Products, by contrast, is a short list of things you built. No supplier column, because they are all yours.

The rest of the articles in this section are about Products.
