What is a resource?
A resource is a real thing you assign to a trip: a coach, a guide, a boat, a room. Selling a seat and having something to put the person in are two different problems.
You sold sixteen seats on Saturday. Which coach is taking them, and who is driving?
That is what Resources answers. A resource is an assignable asset: a vehicle, a guide, a boat, a room, a piece of equipment.
Click Resources in the left menu.
The four counters
- Active Resources, assignable assets ready for use.
- Active Pools, shared-capacity groups that are live.
- Live Assignments, reserved or assigned slot coverage.
- Closeouts, things currently blocked for maintenance or conflicts.
The two health checks
Below the counters sit two statements that should stay true.
- Assignment Gaps — every live reservation has a named resource. If it does not, somebody has sold a seat with nothing to put them in.
- Ownership Gaps — every resource is linked to a supplier. If it is not, you have an asset nobody is responsible for.
Glance at these when you open the screen. They are the fastest read on whether operations is in good shape.
Resources and capacity are not the same
Capacity on a departure says how many places you may sell. A resource says what physically carries those people.
Sixteen seats sold and no coach assigned is a perfectly valid state in the system and a disaster on the day. See Allocation on a departure.
