Max is Voyant’s AI operations agent for travel teams. It can look up bookings, price quotes, plan trips, and trigger workflows from the deployed Admin workspace. Max is a managed Voyant capability. Voyant installs it automatically in every managed deployment and keeps its credentials, operator registration, and runtime configuration in sync. You do not install or register Max from the Voyant dashboard.
Max is not available for self-hosted deployments. A self-hosted app cannot mint a Max session token or register itself as a Max operator, even if it installs a public Max UI package.
The agent runtime, models, and orchestration are proprietary and run in Voyant. The public @voyant-travel/max-embed package remains available for compatibility, but Voyant does not issue tokens for customer-installed or self-hosted embeds.

Managed lifecycle

For a managed deployment, Voyant:
  1. Installs Max as part of deployment provisioning.
  2. Creates and rotates platform-owned credentials.
  3. Makes Max available to authorized staff in the deployed Admin.
  4. Disables Max if the deployment leaves managed hosting.
There is no customer-facing installation, operator, or token-minting workflow.

Extend a managed installation

Add canonical platform Tools to the package that owns the domain behavior. Managed deployments publish their selected Tool graph through MCP, and Max discovers that authorized catalog automatically. There is no separate Max handler or manifest registration path.
