# Managed platform and portability

> How Voyant is operated, how you integrate with it, and how your data and integrations remain portable.

Voyant is a managed travel commerce platform. We provision, operate, secure, upgrade, and scale each deployment so your team can focus on running the travel business and building integrations.

## What you own

Your organization owns its business data and the integrations it builds around Voyant. You can access those surfaces through:

    Admin, storefront, and app APIs, with typed [SDKs](/docs/sdks/overview).

Automations can run wherever your team prefers. They call Voyant APIs and react to webhooks through documented, versioned contracts.

## What Voyant operates

Voyant operates the application runtime, database lifecycle, secrets, upgrades, security controls, observability, and scaling. Managed operation also provides [Max](/docs/max/overview), marketplace apps, support, and the [services](/docs/services/overview) used by the platform.

Each customer organization retains its own runtime and PostgreSQL database. Voyant enforces isolation at that deployment boundary rather than mixing customer records in one shared application database.

## Portability

Managed operation does not lock your business data inside a proprietary format. Voyant exposes documented APIs, webhooks, schemas, and export mechanisms for customer-owned data. Those documented service contracts are the supported boundary for integrations. Publication of the platform or its packages is not.

<Note>
  Historical Apache-2.0 source and npm releases remain governed by the license under which they were published and remain installable at their existing versions. Voyant does not publish new npm package versions. Current and future product development is delivered through the managed platform.
